NOSTALGIC VANCOUVER After B.C. Place Stadium was built, the B.C. Lions moved from Empire Stadium down to B.C. Place. Along with them came the British Columbia Beefeater Band, the official show band for the B.C. Lions. The band didn’t stay long as the Lion’s management team decided they wanted to change their half time show and as the director and founder of the band Gordon Olson was getting on in years and his two son’s were not interested in taking over the band, it was decided to end the band’s illustrious and award winning history that stretched back to the early 1960s when Dal Richard’s hired them to be the Lion’s official marching band.
